The Watchmen: I just have to say though that I loved this movie!
First off I don’t want to be a spoiler for this movie so you will not find any plot elements here.
I think that the movie was so well done in every way. Plot, writing, cinematography, acting everything just came together so well. I really appreciate movies like this. It stayed true to the real meaning of the graphic novel, dispite certain …changes. Movies like this still give credit to the artistic nature of graphic novels. I think they are great combination of written and picture media.
I have been in a lot of conversations about this because recently “The Onion’s” book club had the Watchmen as a book. I think alot of people would agree with me that there is so much bias towards this form of art that lots of people miss out on some great things.
Anyhow I think I digressed… The movie was fraking awesome!!!

I recently got myself a shamwow. I mean how could you not want one?!?!?!
Well then I was thinking how awesome it would be to have a Snuggie made out of a Shamwow!!!! Well this was sent to me today at work.
“Apparently, someone already has made a sham-wow snuggie”
There was a Baltimore Snuggie Bar Crawl yesterday. It was … interesting. There were Star Wars Snuggies, Sham-wow Snuggies, homemade Snuggies.

Just an update on my ZAP… I just now have finished WWZ and really enjoyed the book.
I think my favorite part was the college kids who held up in the school because for the longest time I thought that I could do something similar at my favorite Big 10 School.
This is also promting me to realize just how imporant a CB radio is. Because they are going to be the only form of long distance communication. I think that it is going be inserted into steps 1 or 2.
My plan is a work in progress so thanks for the comments!

So a little while back I gave Sum Dogg a Snuggie. And I must say the Snuggie, as a product, is awesome! I even saw someone wearing one at Bockfest!
As with anything once you learn a little bit about it, then you find out that there is a whole new world that you didn’t even know existed. So here it is.. I found out that there is a Snuggie Bar Crawl in Chicago! That is right, there is going to be a bar crawl of people wearing Snuggies! I think that if we had a few friends get together it would be a blast!
But then I had a big idea. Maybe it would be more fun if I got a group of friends togather and we did a Slanket bar crawl right behind the Snuggie people. Because I have never actually seen a Slanket I cannot make a decision about which one is better. You know I am not even entirely sure all the differences between the two.
I admit that having two rivals doing bar crawls could be trouble between the two groups, but I see it as a way to build a bridge between the Snuggie and Slanket so that this doesn’t become a war that rages on for eternity like Pirate and Ninjas.
p.s. we all know what side I am on this battle…Ninjas are better then Pirates!

Yesterday (Feb 28) was Capital Brewery’s Bockfest. Without a doubt it has jumped on to the list of official Baconbach Holidays. It is the official release of the Blonde Dopplebock beer each year, which happens to be my favorite beer.
Capital’s Bockfest is a spring and ice fishing celebration combined. It takes place in the brewery\’s beer garden with beer and live music, but has several unique traditions. The first one is the annual 1K ”Running of the Blondes”. I’m not promising anything but next year I might want to be one of them…
The real highpoint though is when Capital Brewmaster Kirby Nelson (resident genius) arrives on the roof of the brewery riding a green dinosaur. He then proceeds to throw smoked chubs to the thousands below.
After trying to write this I just realized that it is nearly impossible to actually express what Bockfest is all about. So I will just sum up by saying it is like the Matrix.. You can’t be told what it is, you have to experience it for yourself.

Ok I just found out about this tonight from a friend of mine named “Trick-dawg”. It is apparently called the “pre-Beer”.
From what I was told a Pre Beer is the beer that you drink before your wife gets to the bar. That way she doesn’t know about it.
There was also some hinting at what was refered to as a “post beer”. That apparently is when the wife goes to bed early and you can have a “free pass” to hit the bars with your friends…
Well, I thought it was hilarious…

As many of you know I have a great T-Shirt collection. I don’t know why but I love a great T-Shirt. While checking out thinkgeek on the internets the other day I found this one. which I think could be the most romantic T-shirt I have seen.
That being said it reminded me of something that I remembered about the President. Apparently he knows of the All Your Base video.
The rumor is that someone made the off-hand comment of “All your base are belong to us”.
And the President leaned forward in his chair, quirked his eyebrow a bit, and responded “What you say?”
I don’t know if it is true or not.. but I hope so!!!

So one of my favorite things to do is celebrate the lesser known, but just as important Holidays. Most recently we added Feb 16 to the official baconbach holidays and we celebrated Geordie Laforge’s birthday, which is also Levar Burton Jr. birthday.
As a big fan of Reading Rainbow and the amazing Captain Planet back in the day and of course for Sci-Fi which lead me to TNG, I think we all know this great actor deserves his own holiday. But here is how is actually got started…
LeVar was on The Soup not “Talk Soup”!(great TV show btw) which caused Big Brother to post about it. He says pretty much I could want to say here. http://erith1.wordpress.com/2009/01/19/levar-burton/
And now I will leave you with a photo from out celebration. Thank Good influence T for the sign. Also I know it is obvious but the sign is a reference to The Office the other week.

So this is the official goodbye to Bessie. We had a lot of good times (between 7 and 8 years which I think is craxy for a computer’s life-span!!) and you will be missed. I mean when else can you play video games without a full 2 second lag time!!
On the bright side I would like to introduce the world to Bessie Jr…. I think we should just call it Jr. for short. It has many similarities to Bessie such as the same amount of RAM but it smaller and younger.. I guess it isn’t the best name for a computer but oh well!!
